A Self-Investing Account allows you to trade directly in the U.S. stock market from anywhere in the world. It is designed for those who want to manage their own investments. Below we explain the main features so you can familiarize yourself with your Personal Account.
When you log into your Personal Account, you will see the main account information. This includes your account Balance along with a chart showing recent changes across different time ranges.
Below that you will find your Portfolio positions, Watchlist, and Pending Orders (if any). Clicking on your Portfolio positions or Watchlist will take you to the detailed company information.
If you log in from the app, in the upper right corner you will find three additional options: Balance information, a Search, and Others. Within Others, you can view your Documents, History, and Rename your Account. If you are logging in from the web platform, each of these options will be visible at the top of the screen.
When you log into your personal Folionet account — whether from the mobile app or our web platform — you will see an initial view showing your balance, performance chart, current positions, and other portfolio data.
To search for a specific asset, you can do so easily from either version of the platform. On the mobile app, click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner. On the web version, you will find the search bar right above the main chart of your account. You can enter the ticker symbol of a company or ETF directly, or type the full name if you don't know the symbol.
Once you select the asset, the details screen will appear, where you can view the current market price, performance chart, key indicators, and relevant news. If you want to place a trade, simply select "Trade" to place your buy or sell order quickly and securely.

To get started, type the company name or symbol in the search bar and select it. If the stock is already part of your portfolio, you can also access it directly by clicking on the corresponding position. Once inside the company profile, select the "Trade" button to initiate the transaction.
Depending on whether you want to buy or sell, you will need to enter the parameters required to process your order, such as order type, amount, or number of shares. Remember that each transaction at Folionet has a flat processing fee of $0.98.

To place a Short Sale at Folionet, your Self-Investing Plus Account (Margin) must maintain a balance above $2,000. This requirement allows you access to advanced trades designed for more experienced investors.
The process is simple. First, search for the company name or symbol and select it. If the stock is already in your portfolio, you can also access it directly from the corresponding position. Once inside the company profile, click "Trade" and select Short Sell as the transaction type.
At this stage you can define additional parameters for order execution, or choose to execute at the market price. This flexibility allows you to adapt the trade to your strategy.
It is important to note that not all symbols available on the platform are enabled for short selling. Availability is updated daily by our custodian following internal criteria outside of Folionet's control. Additionally, you cannot short sell stocks that you already hold as a long position in your portfolio.
The Buy to Close option is used exclusively to close short positions at Folionet. This function will only be available for symbols in which you already hold a short position, avoiding any possible confusion.
To initiate the transaction, search for the company name or symbol and select it. You can also access it directly from the corresponding position in your portfolio. Once inside the company profile, click "Trade" and choose Buy to Close as the transaction type.
At this stage you can define additional parameters for order execution, or choose to execute at the market price. This flexibility allows you to adapt the trade to your investment strategy.
At Folionet, you can place different types of orders. Depending on the parameters you enter, Limit and Stop orders may remain open for multiple days or even weeks without being executed.
To cancel an order, go to the Home Screen of your Personal Account, where you will see all active Pending Orders. If this option does not appear, it means you have no orders awaiting execution. By selecting any of them, you can review their details and verify the information.
If you want to modify any parameter, you must first cancel the existing order and then enter a new one with the desired adjustments. This ensures the trade is processed correctly.
It is important to note that Market Orders entered outside regular trading hours (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. New York time) can only be cancelled if they involve whole shares. Fractional market orders cannot be cancelled and will be executed automatically at market open.
You can currently review the details of each of your positions directly from the platform. Simply log into the corresponding investment account and select the position you want to view in your portfolio.
Clicking on the position will display a screen with relevant information, including the asset's current price, specific details of your investment, key indicators, a brief company description, and related news.
This view provides useful information for making informed decisions. If you decide to trade, you can do so immediately by pressing the "Trade" button, which lets you place an order in seconds.
